Virtual Book Fair

November 9-22

Things are looking a little different this fall and unfortunately we are unable to host an in-person book fair.

That won’t stop us from getting books in our student’s hands!

Please join us for a VIRTUAL Book Fair

November 9-November 22

All Proceeds go to help Mr. Dahlin, our amazing librarian; purchase books for the library, as well as help get books to students that may not have the means necessary.

Please purchase during the indicated time and Maywood will receive 25% of the total

Shipping is free for (qualifying) purchases over $25 and all items are shipped directly to your home

What do you say? Come learn from William Stixrud, PhD, and Ned Johnson on how to engage in respectful and effective dialogue, beginning with defining and demonstrating the basic principles of listening and speaking. Learn new ways to handle thorny topics that usually end in parent/kid standoffs.

November 18th, 4pm

Free to PTSA members

The Bellevue Downtown Association is thrilled to provide a turn-key fundraising opportunity for our school at the 2021-2022 Bellevue Downtown Ice Rink presented by Symetra between November 19, 2021 - January 9, 2022. The ice rink is a temporary structure at the Bellevue Downtown Park in Downtown Bellevue (south of Bellevue Square), and a production of the Bellevue Downtown Association, a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization.

Featuring the region’s largest covered open-air ice (real frozen water) skating experience, admission/reservations can now be made on-line. Please notify the rink staff upon arrival our school name (Maywood Middle School) and  they will offering $3 from every paying visitor from our school.

Ice skating opens to the public on Friday, November 19 and closes on Sunday, January 9 and is a part of the Bellevue Season of Cheer. Families can make it a night of holiday fun with a visit to Snowflake Lane at The Bellevue Collection and stroll through Garden d’Lights at the Bellevue Botanical Garden.

ISD Vaccine Clinic ages 5-11
The Issaquah School District is partnering with Costco to put on a vaccine clinic for children 5-11 as soon as approval is given. This is all in the planning stages at this point, and until official approval is given, timing is in flux. The hope is to launch the clinic very quickly, so volunteers are getting lined up now.
Volunteers will greet people, given them information sheets about the vaccine, show them where they need to go, help take temperatures, check them in etc. Costco will handle all vaccine administration and other medical support. Because this clinic is for younger children, there may be a lot more anxiety on the part of the participants. All volunteers need to please bring their empathy and patience to their volunteer time. All volunteers need to be at least 16+ years old and there are limited spots for teen volunteers per shift.
Please go to the link below to fill in your name and email for any/all dates and times you are willing and available to volunteer at the clinic. There is a plan A and plan B depending on approval timing, so only ½ of the dates will end up used, but contingency planning is needed in order to be ready as soon as the vaccine is in hand. Confirmation regarding the plan will be sent to everyone who signs up.
