Maywood PTSA 2.6.40

Please nominate an outstanding volunteer for a

Golden Acorn Award or Outstanding Advocate Award!

Do you know a volunteer who goes “above and beyond” for our kids at Liberty?

Nomination deadline is Friday, March 16th, 2018

The Golden Acorn Award is presented by the Maywood PTSA to people who have given exemplary volunteer service to children and youth in our school community. This award is very special and is given for continued and dedicated service. This is an excellent way to honor PTSA members for their significant contribution to this association. The recipient(s) of these awards are volunteers who promote the mission of the PTSA: to be a “powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and communities, and a strong advocate for the well-being and education of every child.”

The Outstanding Advocate Award honors an individual for continued and dedicated service to children and a demonstrated commitment to helping create strong policies relating to the health, welfare, safety, and education of children. Volunteers who speak for students, or who try to change things for the benefit of children are considered advocates. Nominees for this award can be a PTSA member, community member, teacher, assistant, or administrator.

Both Awards are Washington State PTA awards. More information and details can be found here.

Please consider nominating a special volunteer today. Nominees are scored using a weighted rubric considering volunteer service to the PTSA, Maywood Middle School, the District, and Community.

Award recipients will receive a Washington State PTA certificate, pin, and will be honored at the Issaquah PTSA Council Award Reception in April 2018. A donation will be made in the recipients name to the Washington State PTA Scholarship Program.

Nomination forms are due by Friday, March 9th. You can submit this form online using the nomination form below, or complete a paper form (download from the Liberty PTSA website at Complete the online form or return your paper nomination to the school office in a sealed envelope marked “Attn: PTSA Awards”.
